Gull Lake Ministries Night!!

Seven staffers from Gull Lake Ministries traveled down to share in the evening with our WOL youth ministry tonight. Ambush, Hoe Down, Chief Running Bear, Blue Ranger, Rimshot, (no those aren't their real names) Melody and Kim came to share in worship with music, gospel message and prayer as well as fun games and an opportunity to share about GLM with our church family.

We started the night with some grouping games where you had to find your team by only humming the tune to the song on the piece of paper you were given and then by making the animal noise based on the animal written on the paper you were given.

We then played "Name That Tune" where the gals ousted the guys by a narrow 2201 to 2200 margin. We followed that up with some great songs "Romans 16:19", "Your Everlasting Love" and "Blessed Be Your Name". Then Daniel shared the message with us about "Knowing Jesus".

We had some time to mingle after watching the GLM Week 5 DVD and enjoy a root beer float! It was a great night and enjoyed by all.

There are brochures in the church foyer if you would like more information or want to view a DVD, you may take one of those as well. Their website is http://www.gulllake.org/.

Reminder: There will be no WOL Club on October 24...Enjoy the Fall Break. We'll meet next on October 31.

The Ultimate Movie Night

We had 19 Jr. High students from WOL over this evening for a movie night. The film we saw was The Ultimate Gift. To summarize... "As the self-absorbed grandson of billionaire oil baron Red Stevens, Jason Stevens lacks nothing—except purpose. But when the old tycoon dies and leaves behind an unorthodox will, Jason embarks on a journey that will yield an inheritance cash alone could never match."
It was a little crowded but we fit everyone in.

We stopped about halfway through the film for an intermission and some snacks.

Below are a few pictures from the night!

Come to GLM Night

On Wednesday, October 17, our Word of Life Club will run a little differently as we welcome Gull Lake Ministries (GLM). We invite WOL and AWANA parents and our church family to spend an evening with our WOL Club learning about GLM.

Join us for a fun evening with prizes to be given away and root beer floats to end the evening with!

GLM is a ministry focused on serving families. They are located in Hickory Corners, MI, near Kalamazoo. My family and I have been there each of the past three years to their summer camp. They also have camp on Labor Day weekend and other events throughout the year. Our experiences have been super every time we have gone and it is always a wonderful time of spiritual growth.

NOTE: The AWANA program will run as normal on Wednesday.

Work Day

We had a work day today with eight members of our youth group showing up to help out. We split up into two teams sending one to Remington and one to Rensselaer. The crew in Rensselaer, helped with washing a car and doing some yard work. The crew in Remington helped with washing windows and cleaning out a horse stall. Clearly the Remington crew worked much harder as it is no easy chore cleaning out a horse stall. We didn't get it all cleaned out but made pretty good progress. So, if you wonder who it is that stinks in church tomorrow, it might be me.

Regardless of the work, it was a pleasure to serve and help out a few people in our church family.

I would like to thank all the WOL kids and leaders who were able to help out today. God Bless!
